Etihad Airways has released its traffic statistics for January 2026, continuing the strong momentum that defined a record-breaking 2025 and reinforcing its position as one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world.

The airline welcomed 2.2 million passengers in January, a 29 per cent increase compared with January 2025, when 1.7 million guests flew with Etihad. Passenger load factor reached 89.9 per cent for the month, up from 89.1 per cent a year earlier, reflecting sustained demand across the network and continued efficiency in capacity management.

EVA Air will start a new route from Taipei to Washington, D.C. on June 26 this year, offering four flights each week. With this new route, EVA Air’s North American network will grow to include 10 gateways, two of which will feature the new fourth-generation Premium Economy class and increase the total weekly flights to 98. This makes EVA Air the airline with the most destinations and the largest flight network from Taiwan to North America. Tickets are now available for booking at www.evaair.com.

The guidance aims to improve the availability of comparable and standardised emissions information about flights.  New guidelines empower passengers to make more informed travel choices by having environmental information at the point of booking.   

Air Canada, Canada’s flag carrier, announces the resumption of its nonstop flights to Quito starting in December this year. The operation will include three weekly frequencies between Montreal and Quito, and one weekly frequency between Toronto and Quito.

United today announced it will reach 750 flights per day this summer from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), 200 more than its next largest competitor and the largest schedule ever flown by any airline operating here.

Throughout 2026, Chicago’s hometown airline will offer nonstop service to 222 destinations – more than any other airline at ORD, and 38 more than its next largest competitor – including 47 international cities across Europe, Asia and South America as well as 175 U.S. destinations. The agreement aims to enhance travel options between Türkiye and Montenegro.
